Just thought about it:
 Mankind is the story of the same mistakes in different places.

Should we understand this as:
 'Groo the Wanderer' is just the same jokes with differents publishers.

Uh?

After all, it was the moral of the very first Image Groo. And Image was
Groo fourth publisher...
